It is possible to change or extend
the "PRATO
ITINERARY" including a visit to some of the
following museums

-Museo dell'Opera del Duomo (cathedral museum)The museum
houses the seven original moulds of Donatello's marble
pulpit as well as works by Cavaraggio" ( L'incoronazione
di spine 1605), Giovanni Bellini, Carlo Dolci and others.
Thanks to the recent restoration we can now admire the
fine Romanesque cloister and the "Volte"(vaults),
a frescoed transept which in 1605 was used as burial ground.
-Museo di Pittura Murale (fresco museum)Inside this museum
are polyptic works by Bernardo Daddi, Giovanni da Milano,
Lorenzo Monaco, the sinopia of the frescoes in the Cattedrale
of Paolo Uccello and numerous altar pieces by Filippo Lippi.
-Pecci Museum, this museum is an absolute must for contemporary
art lovers. It was founded in 1988 and houses an important
permanent collection consisting of works by major artists
from the last 30 years. It is also internationally active
with a wide programme of temporary exhibitions, shows and
multi-media events
-Museo del Tessuto (textile museum), it is until now the
only museum in Italy entirely dedicated to the textile
industry. It was founded in 1975 and houses over 6,000
examples of fabrics from all over the world from the 5th
century to the present. It is located in the old "Cimatoria
Campolmi", a jewel of industrial archaeology which
houses machinery and tools for the textile industry too
