Versilia, whose coastal strip stretches
between Viareggio and the dazzling and stylish Forte
dei Marmi, is one of the most popular seaside resorts
in Tuscany. However, apart from the famed Carnival festival
in Viareggio, few know about the historical, artistic
and acrchitectural beauties hidden in the less trodden
towns in the hinterland as Pietrasanta and Camaiore.
Meeting with guide and visit to:
-
Viareggio we take a leisurely stroll along the teeming seafront
and discover some very beautiful and characteristic buildings
in the Art Nouveau style
-
Pietrasanta a quaint and ancient little town that warmly
welcomes the most famous contemporary world artists who come
here to work marble and bronze. Worthy of mention is the
interesting collection of plaster casts
-
Camaiore we visit its medieval village and the well-known
12th century Pieve (church)
It is possible to visit a workshop or foundry (admission
fee)
