It is possible to change or extend the "FLORENCE
ITINERARY" including a visit to some of the most prestigious
museums and churches in the city

-Galleria degli Uffizi (Uffizi gallery), oldest and most
important gallery, home to many of the most recognized
paintings and sculptures in Italy and indeed the world.
Inside are works of the 13th and 18th centuries. Part of
the gallery is the " Corridoio Vasariano."
-Museo dell'Accademia (Academy museum), this is where we
come face to face with the awe-inspiring "colossus" David,
by Michelangelo. We can also admire his famous sculptures
of
"
Prigioni." The collection of early Florentine Renaissance
painting is also very interesting
-Museo di San Marco (Museum of S.Mark), the much talked
about and controversial Dominican monk Savonarola lived
in this Renaissance convent. It was also a source of inspiration
for the artist,the Dominican Beato Angelico., whose paintings
and frescoes are exhibited in the cloistered complex -Museo
del Bargello, houses the widest
collection of Renaissance statues amongst
which are the works of Ghilberti, Donatello
and Michelangelo. There is also an extraordinary
collection of minor works; arms, ceramics, " Robbiane" earthenware,
bronzes and various other objects
-Museo Archeologico (archeological museum
), houses the most important archaeological
finds we have in Tuscany, dating back
to the Etruscan and Roman periods
-Complesso Laurenziano, the church of
S. Lorenzo, designed by Brunelleschi,
was chosen by the Medicis as the family
temple and tomb. The very suggestive
and renowned "Sagrestia Vecchia"(old
sacristy) and "Sagrestia Nuova" (new
sacristy), which house the Medicean tombs,
were sculpted by Michelangelo. The cloister,
marvellous piece of architecture designed
by Michelangelo, houses the Laurenziana
library
-Chiesa della SS. Annunziata, temple
of Mannerism and Florentine Baroque
-Chiesa di Santo Maria Novella, it is
an ancient Dominican church, designed
by Leon Battista Alberti. It houses some
of the most beautiful pictures painted
by some of the most important Fiorentine
artists, from Giotto to Masaccio and
to frescoes by Filippo Lippi
